In Advaita Vedanta, consciousness is described as the formless witness — unchanging and always present (see Swami Sivananda’s commentary on Atma Bodha). Buddhism says something similar: the mind arises as phenomena in awareness, like clouds in the sky. But we get so caught in the content, we miss the space it’s all happening in.
When someone starts seeking spiritually, it’s usually because life’s felt like too much — stress, anxiety, dissatisfaction. And you know what? That’s actually a good thing. It means the old way isn’t working anymore.
