There’s something quietly magical that happens when people sit in silence, together. No big ceremony. No grand announcements. Just a shared stillness — a kind of invisible thread connecting hearts across the hush.

 


It might sound simple (and in many ways, it is), but meditating in a group taps into something ancient and oddly comforting. We’re not meant to figure it all out alone, are we? Especially when the mind’s noisy, the body’s tense, and everything feels a bit… out of sorts.



Why Group Meditation Feels Different



Let me explain. You know those moments when you’re trying to meditate on your own — and suddenly the laundry’s calling, your back’s sore, or your brain’s running through last week’s texts? In a group, that noise settles. Not because it disappears, but because you’re not the only one hearing it. There’s a silent encouragement in knowing others are sitting through the same thing — breathing through their own mess, just like you.


And when a space is held with care — as I aim to do here in Glasgow, especially during Reiki-infused meditation circles — that shared presence can feel like balm for the nervous system. Grounding. Regulating. Real.



A Subtle Energy Shift



Reiki, as gentle and subtle as it is, blends beautifully with group meditation. It helps soften resistance. It’s not about fixing anything — it’s about allowing, resting, remembering peace. In my Reiki Glasgow sessions, people often say they feel “lighter without knowing why.” That’s the kind of shift that’s hard to put into words — and that’s okay. Not everything needs explaining.


You don’t have to be “good” at meditation to show up, either. The practice isn’t about perfect stillness. It’s about honest presence. Letting things be as they are, while sitting alongside others doing the same.
